I've had this Brazilian for a few years at this point. The paint on it was a 10-15 footer, mainly due to severe orange peel. Plus, I didn't care for the vinyl striping, or the dark blue roof for that matter. Finally found some time to tackle this thing. Spent a handful of days removing vinyl, prepping, and masking. There's no previous metal work to speak of that I was able to find, aside from a small floor section repair and an area on the right rear lower quarter panel, which was a bit shoddy and had more filler than I'd like. I redid that spot and had a couple minor dings to deal with. This is Marina blue and just an off white that matched the existing white. Decided to leave the roof rack off and opted for a 4x6 lightweight trailer to haul gear and a vespa.

Have a few! In fact I almost went with Speedwell blue pictured on this one shell I did up. Very similar, slightly darker. I have a bug in Marina blue that needs a restoration, so I kept the bus in the VW color code family and have paint leftover to do the bug eventually.

Thanks! I've been using TCP Globals base/clear urethane on the past several paint jobs. Shot the rear bumper in their single stage urethane, which I was pleased with as well. |
