Hey all. If you're wanting a better drop-in single spring option for the 36hp engine, I'm offering these for $200 a set. Here's some specs:
1.340" - 45 lbs
1.240" - 64 lbs
1.140" - 82 lbs
1.040" - 100 lbs
.940" - 121 lbs
.840" - 143 lbs
.740" - 169 lbs
Bind at .687"
Can lift to around .700" before binding. The limit would be the retainer contacting the guide boss. As you can see, there's one less coil than the 36 spring.
The pressures are slightly higher than a stock spring, but can be shimmed for your needs. They fit in the stock retainer and stock spring seat.

Here are the stock spring specs according the CSP site:

Quote:
Inner diameter: 0.80669 in
Outer diameter: 1.07283 in
Spring force at 1.40551'' inst. height: 15.7 lbs
Usable range of spring (street use): 0.49961 in
Spring force at 0.49961'': 111 lbs
Max spring range before block: 0.63386 in
Fully compressed height: 0.76260 in

Cheers,

Paul

I'm running a set on a lightly tuned 36hp, and I have another set waiting for a stroker 36. They drop right in.
I honestly probably didn't need them on the current motor, but I wasn't keen on reusing 60+ year old stock springs. IMO stock springs are pretty wimpy, which is probably fine for a stock 36. But as soon as you add a cam or extend the rpm limit, I think that better springs are not a bad idea
