Any fellow Samba members into antique long guns?

Can someone help identify this?

I don't know what that is, but I could send to a few friends that may be able to identify it.

I have an old (1917 or so) Stevens Favorite that belonged to a friend that passed away a few years ago. I have been collecting parts to make it complete.

My boss has a very nice Sharps rifle, and several other antique guns in his collection.

I just got a response from a friend that is a collector, and he said t was an air rifle but could not come up with the exact name. I will let him know tomorrow that the answer was found. Well done.

Look up Quackenbush. They made a similar one here in the USA.

But I believe this is a "GEM" Air Rifle. Made from a few different Germany companies.

What makes you say its a Brittania?

You could be right about the Gem. The second rifle in my picture could be a Gem and the last one could be the brittania. Either way I want to shoot that old "gem". Bring it to Englishtown and we can plink a few cans.

I love combining my two hobbies Wink

Working on some older single shots. Looking for some parts. I've used schudlershots for some rohm and colt parts, but they don't have an ejector or firing pin for my mossberg .22. Also looking for accurate schematics for a h&r model 1908 shotgun. It works but the firing pin does not retract. Think it needs a spring.
Thanks!

Interesting enough, I was gifted an antique rifle with matching powder horn
years ago even though I had no interest in gun collecting.

Watching Pawn Stars back in 2009, the gun expert Sean Rich seemed knowledgeable so I googled his company and I emailed him asking if he could give me any information about the gun.

He responded that he could do an appraisal free of charge and to send him as many pictures as possible. He only charged for actual write ups for insurance purposes.

He graciously replied with a detailed opinion on the gun and its value.

Excerpt from his response from 2009:

Thank you for the additional photos, it helps a lot ! It is my opinion based upon the photos provided; What you have is a mid 18th century antique half-stock Flintlock German/Austrian hunting gun. I could not make out the name on the lock plate but that is OK. The stock has very nice high-relief decorative carving (typical and common for this type). It appears to be in its original flintlock configuration and has not been re-converted (which is very good).
