Starting to work on my 1969 Beetle Hood and when I removed the hood release handle the hood appears dented where the handle bolts on. I wanted to make sure it was dented and not recessed from the factory. Thanks in advance.

Dented. Also evidenced by recessed dent above the lower holes.
