I had a search for previous posts on this topic but could not find anything?

I am replacing my windshield seals which are rotted away, but my aluminium trims whilst slightly pitted and tarnished are in good shape.

Is it possible to buff up the Aluminium to a near factory finish ( what processes did folks use?) or is that anodising or suchlike prohibits ever getting a good result. I’d love to hear some opinions 😀

Its anodized. So, it would have to be stripped then polished.

Light buffing (not cutting) may be enough, but if not, stripping and re-anodizing will be needed (if you can find a shop who will do it!). Bare aluminum will tarnish fast.

Anyone tried clear-coating bare aluminum successfully? I would expect it would peel quickly.

Bare aluminum will be fine by itself.

Maybe in dry Fresno, but in other areas, particularly near a coastline, not so much.

Does the Deluxe Bus trim hold up ok there? It`s not anodized.
