Lighter beers will definitely get worse with time. But I have some strong stouts that are many years old. I think at least one or two that are now almost 20 years. All in glass bottles, all in the dark and cool temps of a root cellar. I have cracked one occasionally just to see how they are, and so far they just get more smooth and strong (ABV) than when they were "fresh".

But old Corona and Miller Lite? Dump it out!
