Haven't started my 50 beetle in about a month and a half. It is stored in a climate controlled garage. Stock, original rebuilt engine and carb with a couple of miles on it since rebuilt. Pulled the choke, started right up. When warmed it idles perfectly with the choke opened. With the choke open, the engine won't rev - it dies immediately. If I pull the choke closed, it revs fine. It has never had this behavior before. Before I start tearing things apart, looking for some advice what could be wrong? |

There's gas in the tank, right?
Sounds like it's time to take the carb apart and blow it out, you might try the rev it and choke it with the palm of you hand trick a couple times first, that might suck the blockage out. _________________ Rust NEVER sleeps and stock never goes out of style.
Please don't PM technical questions, ask your problem in public so everyone can play along. If you think it's too stupid post it here

Plenty of gas
Will try the palm of my hand trick, and if that doesn't work, then pull it apart and blow it out. |
