I just received the birth certificate for a May 52 split I’ve owned for a while and I’m puzzled by it. It says it was delivered to “Volkswagen Dealer Junk” in Trier Germany. Anyone know what “Volkswagen Dealer Junk” means? I searched the forum for answers but didn’t find anything.

I don't know what it means but it is not what I would hope to see on my VW's birth certificate...

Volkswagen Zentrum Trier is the German car dealer "Junk" still existing today!
funny to see how a name sometimes is understood in another language.... |

So it looks like the dealer/distributor's name in Trier is Junk?? Haha, that's funny and a nice surprise. I mis-interpreted "junk" to mean something bad had happened to the car early in it's history. Glad to find out my interpretation was just wrong.

A few years ago, someone posted a pic of a new car picked up at Wolfsburg, stating in the back that they had spent the night in "Celle" before going to the VW factory. The site was ripe with suggestions like prison cell, monastery cell. etc until someone actually knew that Celle is a german town close to Wolfsburg!
Kind of the same language barrier!

Haha ... i can honeslty say id be ecstatically happy if my cars birth certificate said that |

| "Junk" in German would sound like "yoonk" in English. |

| Junk was the name of the Volkswagen dealer of Trier in south west Germany. It is acutally a part of "Löhr Automobile", which is a large Volkswagen group in the same area |
