I'd prefer it all go as one. It's original and only 1 other owner than me and that was my grandfather. Was with my grandparents when they bought it. Still have the original sales documents.

I said that lightheartedly and also as a compliment

udidwht, I love it, my inlaw's have the pick up version in Maui for their business. I'm looking forward to driving theirs. I don't see you leaving us being you've been here since 2005 and Everett has this great Off Topic Forum. Please stick around.

Can you share a little bit about the mechanicals and capability such as mpg, suspension and overall cruising speed? She is adorable.

With the parts supply (and the future) the way it is I've decided to move on to this...1990 Subaru Sambar Try XS Supercharged. Was only 1 owner with just over 51,XXX kilometers on the clock and in immaculate condition inside and out. Shipped it over from Japan. I own (2) other kei vehicles in Japan when I'm there.

So if anyone is interested in my Westy send me a PM. Just did a full tune on it. Specs are in signature.

The transmission and differential use same gear oil as bus. I just changed both and put in Amsoil full synthetic GL-4 rated. Front end is very simple mix of bushings and joints.

Engine 660cc w/ Supercharger EMPI (Electronic Multi Port injection) it will average low 30mpg range and has ~ 10gal tank. It can maintain highway speed but I try and keep her at roughly 80-90kmh (right lane). It red lines at ~8krpm.

No worries. I only started given thought of this given my older son is ready to drive and I already told him flat out...Not gonna happen with the bus. Not interested in anything new. And definitely not interested in electric (Yuck).

As for insurance I have a agreed value of $25,000 on it.

With the Subie I have...

1. Inexpensive
2. I can attain parts easily
3. Very reliable
4. Great on gas
5. Very easy to maintain.
6. 4 wheel drive
7. It is something that most others do not have but want. LOL!
8. Sold

Pricy little buggers, @22k but oh so utilitarian.
Look this one has a bus look.

The bus look is a modification that one does on their own in Japan. If one purchases one here (prior to shipping to USA) it must be removed or it won't pass customs and will be sent back or crushed. No joke.

But one can have the items shipped here once removed then put back on.

Very likely Subaru. They do not come from Subaru with the VW front end.

We had a Daihatsu mini truck for several years. Great little rig, 4WD with high/low range and diff locks front and rear. That little sucker was amazing in snow and mud. Problem was it just was not geared for highway use nor did it have the power to. We beat the engine to death trying. 50 mph is as fast as it would go without destroying the valves.
