Rewaco hs4 vw trike alternator overcharging

Evening all
Just a quick question and help hopefully

My HS4 2005 altinator is kicking out around 18 volts on the clock, I presume the voltage regulator maybe faulty but I haven't found anything that look like the vw regulator or where it might be located,

I've put another engine in and it was charging at 14v before so not sure what could be wrong, its running OK all lights work, the body is off so I have plenty to look at

The only place I can see where it might be is on the drop down panel under the fals tank but all the bits on it just look like relays

Any help would be appreciated

Maybe the voltage regulator is internal, inside the alternator, like late Beetles had?
