Need some help - Air Cleaner part?

Howdy,

So I was changing the oil in my oil bath cleaner and this small part fell off. Never saw it before and I can't see where it came from. I've got a stock 1600 in my 74. I won't put the air filter back on yet. Any help would be highly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I just went out to look for this part on my 74. But I can't find it on mine either. I have had every nut and bolt of my apart, and I don't remember seeing one of these.

Thank you for looking. It is odd and I know it came off there as I was holding it upside down draining the oil out of it. The mystery continues...
