I am looking for some one in the greater SF Bay Area if possible to rebuild and install a new convertible top for my 1962 beetle. The original frame is in good condition but could use some professional help along with a new fabric top installed.

Anyone could recommend a quality shop or individual who does good work? I will if I have to go further than Northern California. I have not hit any local Bussiness yet as I would prefer some one who has had one done, recommend their builder or ones to stay away from.

Appreciate any leads and thank you in advance.

Justin

Contact a VW club in Sacramento or San Francisco area, and ask there.

im in VA. i talked to a guy at a local show about vert tops as he had a 64 with brand new top. believe it or not the guy that did it came from puerto rico to do it. the way it works is you pay his airfare and all material. the top was beautiful.
that is where things stand. i think vert top makers are that rare to find. another guy had his top done locally. Price 20 thousand. INSANE

Also check out Porsche club meets and ask 356 cabriolet owners about tops...they're constructed pretty much the same way as VWs.

Please post back if/when you find someone to do your top. I'm looking for a shop to replace the plastic rear window in my Ghia's top, but no luck yet Confused
