traced out the wires on the headlight switch and flasher switch and all wires seem to be going where they should.

when turning the flasher switch on, nothing happens at all. All wires are connected and I don't see anything wrong. not sure what im missing. i guess i'll come back to this.

when i turn the turn signal on, whether its left or right, it clicks and blinks 3 times and shuts off, but the lever at the steering wheel is still in the up / down position. during the 3 blinks, the blinkers blink and the click is audible. but it just stops and i get nothing. till i turn it off and do it again. what would cause this?

when turning the light switch off / on, i noticed that i had smoke coming out of the switch housing. wtf!? would that happen based off the way the wires are going to the switch, or is it an internal issue? the headlights are not working but the parking lights and dash lights are.

I have fixed the issue with the headlights by cleaning the ground connections. They are in the frunk:

Smoke from the switch probably means fried wire(s) from a short. You may need to pull it apart and see what caused the smoke.

Did you get smoke out the headlight switch in the parking light position? Or ONLY when you pulled it all the way to the headlight position?

Straight battery power goes through the headlight switch first before going over to the ignition switch, so you may have a 30 terminal (constant battery power) on the light switch rubbing against the dash metal. Since it's straight from the battery there is no fuse inline up to that point to protect the circuit.

Constant battery power to the e-flasher switch is through a red wire coming off the fused side of #9 fuse (assuming everything is wired correctly.) Is that fuse blown?
