Great job, love the stance, anything done to change it?
looks a bit lowered?
I had a coral red back in late 60’s with a ragtop, but for the likes of me cannot remember the OG upholstery color,
Remember the top was coral.
My friends called it “nipple pink” _________________ .

Nipple pink I’m going to remember that one
The front axle is adjustable. This is the highest I can go with these shockabsorbers. I love the stance as well!
Thanks! |

Nice. But why Citroën mudflaps on a VW?

They are universal. They made these for example also for Ford Capri's with the two V's |

For now, the bug is finished
A radio and a shifter lock is something I want to buy in the future.

I’m working on some extra accessories at the moment.
One of them is this little clock I just finished. I made a background for the clock inspired by the Kienzle clocks. I’m going to make a second one that matches my AAC gauges a bit more

Last week I painted my spare wheel and put a new tire on it.
Sunday was the anual swapmeet at Lommel. There are always some cars at display and I was asked to put mine there
And yesterday I drove to a dyno to adjust the engine to get it running 100% correct and also to know the 'power' of the engine
Some pics I took:
Result: 38HP (EU) or 45HP (US) and 82Nm torque.
I added some other updates on the car which I'll post later

Yes they are slowly becoming extinct everywhere, I think. I had to drive 1.5h to get there |

Hello everyone
I am Matthias from Germany.
I have almost the same project at the moment.
It is a 1956 ragtop beetle original in coral red.
Could someone help me with the original colour numbers for the rims and the original material for the upholstery.
Thanks

Wow!
I am a big Cal Look fan having come of age in California during the hay-day of the concept.
However, I find what you did here to be really inspiring. The more I learn. The more I appreciate the original concept of these great cars.
Great job returning your car closer to what was originally intended.
I like the overall look of what you have created more than the beginning Cal Look concept. (I must be getting old )
Congratulations on a great build. The massive hours you spent were worth the effort. _________________ Tom

Wow, thanks for the kind words
I'm also happy with what I have created. Coming from a Callook-based car it came out as a great driver car. It still has the disc brakes in front and type3 drums in back for better brake ballance. It stops, almost, as a modern car.
It also still has the long Rancho gearbox. Overkill for this engine off course but it handles great!
