Little update. Got the six inch beam fitted and I think it’s improved it no end. Yet to drive it, I need to set the tracking and make sure everything is tight. Fitted a steering damper too so looking forward to going for a test drive.

So, a six inch beam is on order, the tyres unfortunately rub on the wing lips and i dont want to run it at stock height. As it is its actually wider than stock and its already running a four inch beam as it is . Also i machined up a new Judson belt tensioner.

Hahaha, it was a complete surprise to be honest. I truly never built it for that. I will take it to Volksworld next year if they will have me. Cheers

Looks fantastic. Amazing that the bearing oiler made a solid line like that. It looks very straight. I like the idea of letting the paint flow in a natural state as you did.

I know that Type One Restorations uses seam sealer in the groove then will mask a clean line. Much more difficult given the curvature.

I am in the camp of trying to mask as deep into the groove as possible so that the line is centered but rims are never perfect so that is hit and miss. It also becomes a problem with thicker paint.

I masked as deep as it would go with fineline but it was still gave a bad line. The paint from the oiler bottle is not thick in any way. Try it your own way and see how it goes. Each to their own. Cheers

Defensive much? It was a compliment and an admission that it looks better than just masking. I have painted rims so know that it’s impossible to get a good line which is why I am intrigued by what you did here. Apologies that it didn’t read that way. Nice build.
