1962 VW Bus paint code SK1007

Hello, been searching online for quite some time to figure out what paint code I have.

The VW M Plate states it's a "sk1007."

I cannot dig that up anywhere. It is a 62 VW Micro Bus Deluxe.

It was like a dove blue below the waistline and a lighter blue up above.

Is it a 23-window or a 15-Window?

Sorry just getting back to you. I had not received a notification that there was a response!

It is a 15-window bus and I do not have any pictures of it before it was sanded down years ago.

It was a darker blue on bottom and lighter on top.

I also cannot find a color code with that number anywhere online either. I'm stumped

I'm not sure the bottom is Dove Blue?

It looks lighter to me than Dove Blue but that could be photo or the way the color appears on my computer.

The top color looks closer to Dove Blue to me in those pics. Maybe Sea Blue lower and Dove Blue upper. Sea Blue was available on Ghias during that time frame. What a cool bus, you need to get your painter to color match those two blues and repaint it in the original colors. I love special order paint buses.

I would like to see the two colors where they meet at the bottom of the beltline. That will give a good contrast/comparison between them.

I'm a bit of a bus nerd with a photographic memory, so this thread immediately had me recalling this other two tone deluxe with what appears to be the same paint combination.

why the paint code designations differ, is perplexing. Maybe because in '62 it was a special order (SK code) where as in 63 it had become an offered color?

In this pic of the rear roof speaker bracket you can see this deluxe has hardboard headliner? How about some more pics of the bus?

Wow, a special paint bus in my childhood hometown. Cool.

Nastus, I may have to hook up with you this fall when I visit family. Would love to see this bus in person.
