i built the shock towers to be close to where the shock is fully extended when the suspension can no longer go down.
when i set the height of the front end, how much downward travel of the front suspension should i account for ? |
also, should the rear suspension be setup the same way? _________________ OGST | CU05 | OGJHC

Check with the folks over at Dune-buggy.com A bunch of them do fabrication and could help you. I know when I did my beam for my baja, it only dropped like 1-2inches when I put weight on the wheels.

my car has about 3 in. down travel in the front and about 4 in the rear. not enough drop out and the ride is stiff and does'nt handle well through rough stuff. drop spindles are a great way to go because you get ride height without having to set the preload to stiff. |

do you mean raised spindles?
drop spindles lower your car, not the disc/drum mounting point. _________________ OGST | CU05 | OGJHC

I know what you mean but all the offroad spindle makers call them drop spindles because they drop the wheel, increasing ground clearance and raising the front of the car. got me? |

I like to call mine "lifting" spindles. that way I somewhat avoid the whole "raised/drop" debate. _________________ Markus |
