Just curious as to what is the most someone has carried in their square, fasty, or notch.. Whether it be by weight, bulk, awkward sized items etc, how did the public respond to your madness..?? (stay away from that dead head, surely hes on drugs))
Im curious cuz today in my bug i was toting abunch of buckets a 4'ladder, drills, more buckets,etc.. and was thinking man if i was in my notch a lot of the little nicknacks could fit in the decklid. whereas a bug it all traveled inside the car.. |

I towed a car with my 72 auto fastback. It actualy didn't pull all that bad. But this proved to be a bad idea when I had to turn or stop. _________________ I know everything, and it won't happen to me. |

Yesterday I had to help my cousin clean up a rental property she owns. The last tenant was a real jerk and left junk everywhere. I had to borrow my neighbor's ratted-out trailer and tow it across town and load it full of old rusty bikes, lawnmowers, rotted lumber, car batteries, aluminum siding, etc. The trailer is still loaded in the driveway...my wife has already asked me three times this morning when I'm going to take it to the dump. _________________ OGST

A couple of pieces of 3/4" oak plywood on the roof, and two window air conditioners in back. Just a note - plywood tied to the roof is almost as good as wings up there...................... especially going down the highway. _________________ '71 Squareback - daily driver w/o brakes (not anymore, pan is starting to sag too much!)

My two boys.
Actually, this wasn't hauled in my square, but when we moved into our new house a few weeks ago, my husband and his helper (one of our Boy Scout leaders!) brought over my homemade 7 foot demon standing up in the bed of a pickup (I do Halloween pretty big).
They got a lot of strange looks. I told them they should have rolled down the window at a light and asked, "which way to the ritual sacrifice?"
You can see the demon at my website: www.lagrotesquerie.4t.com.
Sorry, I'm not up to speed on inserting photos in a post. |

I think this was 8 bags of concrete and a load of flowers last spring, thankfully the 1904 moved it along quite easily
I've had furniture boxes filling the rack sticking up 2.5 ft, not heavy but full and bulky. And of course any trip to costco can filler up. _________________ http://www.thesamba.com/vw/archives/manuals/jim_martin_engine_build.php

No photos, but about 6 months ago I picked-up a pair of 7500watt Generac generators. The wheels had to come off in order to fit through the hatch opening, and even then they *just* made it. With my son, me and all the generators it floated like a Caddy all the way home. _________________ Regards,

Flamer drug my friends '67 bug on a 15 mile cruise one night, complete car just had problems. so we towed it for the cruise then to my house to fix to. Towed it alot as my car is the lowest we have with a tow ball. Of course camping gear on a trailer for weekend getaway.

The biggest was an antique wood stove I picked up for free off CL.
The hatch wouldn't shut, but I only drove it a mile or so.
The heaviest load was a retaining wall I dug out of a lady's backyard.
I made several trips across town - about 10 miles - with the suspension bottomed out.
The 480kg cargo capacity is just a suggestion. _________________ 1988 Ford Festiva L
