I remember finding a hundred dollar bill floating in the water at Lake Mead after I just lost $125 playing craps in vegas. I know it aint much but it was better than going home with nothing.

On my way to my girlfriends house on the moped back in high school, I found 400 dollars on the side of the road. I took my 88 Toyota Truck straight to the shop and got it lifted..

Laughing Nowadays you cant lift shit with $400.

I remember this time I was riding my bike on my paper route early in the morning back in 1986. I found a computer in some bushes and put it in my paper route bag and took it home. Old school Apple computer but it was like new at the time. I was stoked. I think a burglar might have stole it and hid it there. My dad made me get rid of it.

I picked up a industrial drill press that was being thrown away. I figured it needed a new motor I took it home plugged it in and it has worked fine for 5 years now. Where I live the city picks up the trash in from everyone home so on the days before the trash pick up is scheduled I drive around and find some good stuff sometimes. I even found a beetle tow bar and hood one time. One mans junk is anothers treasure.

A real nice Handtruck on the side of the freeway . A few weeks ago I was following a construction truck at 6am and a 6 pack type ice chest blew out. I turned around and picked it up. It had a built in drink holder in the lid and it was full of what I thought was OJ turned out to be Vodka and OJ.Also contained the guys lunch. Bet he was bummed at lunch time.

I once found a rather large baggie under a park bench filled with some dried green herb.

It was wonderful.

When I was at Beauty School one day I was in charge of clean up and I saw something shiny.. I picked it up and it was a diamond necklace pendant....not only was it real(i had it checked) it had 3 diamonds in it....the girl at the jewelry store said it was worth about $500....

I'm tempted to pawn it, but diamonds are a girls best friend, and I simply cant bring myself to pawn by best friend... heheh Laughing

I seem to loose more than I find.
When I was a kid, my brother came in from walking the dog, with a couple of $20 bills he said he found. I went out and found nothing. My mom went out and found another 3-4 $20 bills. I went again, and found nothing. My brother went out again, and found about 3 $20's, and a fist full of $10s. All told, they found about $200. I didn't find Jack! Evil or Very Mad

Later we found out that a domestic dispute had resulted in cash (& clothes & a husband) being thrown out of the house. Several folks in the neighborhood found money that morning!

Not long after I moved to Utah, I found a fire hydrant on the side of the road. Let me tell you, those things are incredibly heavy! One of two things will happen with it. It will either be part of a fountain in the back yard, or I'll chrome it and put it in my pool room. Cool

I hate to break it to ya but those belong on the side of the road and the reason it is so heavy is because is was mounted to a pipe. Laughing

Unless you're cheap and go with a body lift Very Happy
As for finding stuff, about 10 years ago I was doing a building inspection of a old warehouse building (Fire Dept) and I noticed a bug in a corner covered in dust under some boxes, I went and checked it out and it had a split rear window! At the time I just thought it was weird because it had two glove boxes and the speedo was in the center of the dash(I didn't know much about it at the time). I remember I called the Captain over and we were checking it out and the owner came over and said he had it since high school and wasn't going to sell it (he said it was a keeper for his grandson). Over the years I mentioned it on occasion to some Vdub friends and I heard a couple years ago someone went out there and offered the guy $8G's and he said no way. It's probably still there, I think he said it was a 49? but I'm not sure because it was so long ago. Maybe some day I'll drive out to look at it and make an offer, If I ever have the cash on hand! Very Happy

I found a wallet filled with cash (around $500) in a parking lot, but I mailed it back to the guy. Good karma.
I found a couple of DVDs laying on the side of the highway while bicycling yesterday. 'Butterfly effect', and 'I married an ax murderer'.
