|
Greetings -
Car: 1972 911T with 1975 2.7S CIS motor. Sat for decades before I purchased it. Original gas tank is very nasty inside and the car bogs quite a bit under heavy throttle or when warm after lots of garbage is stirred up in the tank. The engine room fuel filter has been changed and fills up with gunk fairly quickly, so tank replacement is in order.
I talked with the big parts seller and was informed that the typical new Dansk tank would drop right in, so I purchased it. It will likely drop into the car as stated (with undercoating and paint), however I would like to confirm that I have the fuel routing correct before I commence.
The original tank has two outlets and an internal screen (exterior snapshot below):
The new tank has three outlets and does not have an internal screen. Could the wizards of the Samba please confirm or provide wise direction based on the approach below?
To fuel pump: 22mm fuel line fitting with screen and gasket washer (will this screen suffice as a primary filter for the pump?)
Return: 14mm banjo fitting and gasket washer
Plug: 22mm drain plug with gasket washer
Thank you kindly,
