That is sweet. What is the cost for something like that?

Don't know what conversion costs - I see an ad elsewhere on the web for an '84 Westy that runs about $18k.
Looks like Sr. Martinez has his act together! I wonder if these engines are too much for a tired auto tranny? _________________ Steve - Tampa Bay Area

To quote someone else "Dude, where's my ground clearance?!"
I have that same engine in my 91 Pathfinder, its loud, and piss poor on gas and power. My pathy gets 16s at best (highway).
But kudos to the guy for making more than one of them! _________________ -Dan

Well, I think I was too harsh.
I forgot to mention two important things about the 3.0 VGE,
A> Its a very durable engine. Not prone to leaks of any type (oil/coolant).
B> Its Waaaaaay cheaper to get parts for than a 2.1 VW.. And most FALPS carry everything for it. _________________ -Dan

I'm wondering where the ground clearance went. |

Need to pick your brains on this. It's been a swap on my mind for some time.
One thing I never found out is how high it protrudes above the rear deck.
I remember seeing pictures of the rear deck being enlarged.
His website seems to be down. There is probably info out there. I'll find it.
Thanks in advance. _________________ Peace, Regis |

I'll go out to the boneyard tomorrow and measure crank to top of manifold and crank to bottom of sump. Hopefully there will still be something lurking about. _________________ Peace, Regis |

Yepper. I found his old site.
One pic showed a raised deck lid of ~2", closer to four maybe.
But another pic of the underside has the VG30E setting way too low for me.
Thanks for the link. I'll sleep in tomorrow. _________________ Peace, Regis |
