It's nice and impressive to see just how little of the original metal you're replacing on this bus.
Are you going to strip that driverside door to see if there's still some Dove Blue left under the red paint?

Continue the work on the battery tray.
I built that early latches for the battery, removed that late stuff, put the nut for ground in the right place and make it to one piece with the panel next to the vin.

I used a a little bit of the old panel that takes me much more time as build it new complete , crazy to see back to that pictures and know that was a day of work....

Looks great.

Can I get the dimensions for the ground bolt location? Also does the replacement battery pocket match the original? Mine is in very bad condition.

Thanks

Kristián, I have the same problem, the remains of the panels under the battery were one whole, I didn't know until now, thanks to you. Ivan

When I first saw the pictures I wondered about the roof too. It looks very rusted on both sides, probably because of the water collecting in the huge dent for a long time. Maybe the most important part, the front section above the cabin, can be saved? It seems a bit better and less rusty, but it's hard to see on the photos. I guess it might be easier and more realistic to find suitable donor or repair pieces for the rest of the roof.

Maybe a more suitable and useable blue door will come your way during the time you're working on the bus, who knows?

Here are the measurements for the ground, i take it from my old tray.
Don't know about the pressing because my original tray is gone to far.
I hope that helps!

Ah okay, alles klar. The rust is not the (biggest) problem.

Today I repaired the Zylinder and the pump for the dozer, so i first tried out how to work with that machine and get I idea how to straighten that Barndoor again.
After bent that back that corner i see that the pillar is also heavily damaged, so i mist take that all apart.

One thing for now i can say, that frame bench is fun!!

Christian, your metal work is absolutely beautiful and thank you so much for the excellent documentation which takes time and slows progress considerably. All your hard work add's to the future Barndoor repairs throughout the world. I look forward to your lessons every morning with my coffee. Happy Holidays and keep warm. Blue Bus
