Any comments on fit and finish..... are you pleased with them? Trying to decide on these versus OEM hearts

Thanks!

These are the only ones in the market unless I am missing something. I have found only one comment that says they a good option for fit and finish. At $499US, they would be a better financial option especially if there is the possibility of theft.

Scott

I don't know about the fit and finish but here are others.

My experience is that the housing fit to the bracket/ bulb holder is where the aftermarket parts show how good or bad they are. Especially with heart tail lights.
Not to say these are good or bad, but rather that I would be wary of anything that didn't have an option of brackets that were known to work

Hopefully they have improved the quality...of any of the parts. I mean, I don't want to sound too picky for a part that's VERY expensive in OEM rusty used up condition. But I bought a pair of just the chrome rings from KN a couple years ago and the chrome fell right off both rings in my hand.
ALL OF THE CHROME fell right off like a bad sticker.

I inquired about this issue and they offered me absolutely nothing,

I had ordered European T2 taillights for our 1967 Westfalia years ago. The chrome was peeling off the chrome bezel as fast as I was opening the package it was in. Extra $$ to get it chromed properly locally.

The other point brought up will be final fit and finish to the OG bracket bulb/holder. Will see.

I've bought parts from C&C and have no complaints. pretty sure they generally have a good reputation and I expect the chrome would have to be able to survive a british summer.
kn seem to have a mixed track record and regularly get gripes on the samba.

if you're worried about theft, I'm sure I've read about folk using security bolts on the rear lights.

I had a similar experience with KN. I do not buy their cheap parts anymore!

Back in high school, I used Allen head screws! No one had Allen keys in their tool boxes, back then! Now, a good double pin security screw would be a great option!

Back then, these were cheap commuter cars that were left on the street when you went to work or school..
Now I wouldn't leave one of mine unattended in a lot for long enough that someone would steal them. I think outside of southern Cali, there wouldn't be anyone to notice and want to steal them..

I get it! It can be rough out here! Back in 1987, I had a kill switch, an alarm system, a combo lock on the e-brake handle, a shifter lock and a steering column lock! I would also disconnect the coil and lock the decklid! The wife, then a girlfriend, would stare at me like I was crazy, whenever we parked in a lot!

My buddy, David Navarez, had his black 57 lifted from his house, back then! I think it was his Bug. Someone’s Oval got stolen! After that, I decorated the Bug with lots of deterrents!

Bought the C&C reproductions on sale for $680 Cdn. At the time there was no mention of brackets so surprised when they came with them.

Taillight housing same size as original with slightly less of a lip than original for taillight gasket.

Excellent heavy plastic reproduction of running light lens with Hella logo. Can fit original lens in it's place. Chrome bezel good fit.

Heart lens has slight gap to housing. Possibly heart lens repro too small?

Bracket needs slight bending to sit flush with fender. Nice reconstructed bracket though.

Heart taillight wire "spring" is just like original upon further review. It fits at the top of the housing like a hinge and clips the heart lens in place with two catch points in the housing. After fitting the wire better to the heart lens some of the gap with housing can be lessened further.

For the price I am very pleased!
