I have some aluminum turtlebacks, and the black finish on them is damaged after years of abuse.
What is going to be the best way to restore these? Should I have them sand blasted? Best way to re-blacken the aluminum? _________________ 1972 Super Beetle, Parked until adequate restoration funding is acquired in restoration!

Media blast them then have the entire face powder coated. Next take them to a machine shop and have them lightly machine (turn the wheels in a lathe) remove the paint from the surfaces intended to be raw. This will make your wheels look like brand new! Afterwords you could have them clear coated even!
Hey so whats the deal’io on your repop lugs??? _________________ 5 busses 58-64

I have repop lugs available! They turned out very nice and plenty strong. I have 3ish sets but I plan to keep a set for myself. If you are interested in a set you are welcome to DM me.
Id rather not powder coat, Im thinking I may paint. _________________ 1972 Super Beetle, Parked until adequate restoration funding is acquired in restoration!
