1961 Beetle wiper spindle - C Clip?

Hi guys,

Just went to refit a wiper motor in my 61 Ragtop Beetle. If I push the spindles (where the wiper blade mounts) the spindle pushes almost all the way through the wiper assembly.

Looking closer, there appears to be a groove that accepts a circlip of some description. I have had a quick search and can not find any from the usual parts suppliers.

Any ideas on clip type/size?

Any auto parts store will have an assortment pack of various sizes. Find one that fits.
