Can someone please tell me what this box looking thing is and what it does? In my case, it currently doesn't do anything apparently because it is disconnected. There is a hose coming in and out of it but it doesn't go anywhere. It is under the car, to the right of the transmission on the passenger side.

Thank you.

I thought perhaps it was something like that. I recently replaced one of those on my son's 2009 Nissan.

Thank you, I'll research and see if I can not get it hooked back up correctly.

This link should take you to the page of the Emissions Control manual that shows how it would have been hooked up originally. Hope it helps…

Thank you for that! I do not know how necessary this is, but I would like to have everything hooked up and working the way it should be.
