Hello,

So sorry for this beginners question but I am new to VW bugs and not 100% sure. I purchased this 1967 VW from my neighbor who owned it since she was 16YO. According to her the motor is a 1200cc engine.

But when I looked up the number on the motor is coming up as a 1500cc. Can anyone confirm this?

I want to replace the carb and fuel pump before attempting to start it. It has not been driven nor started in more than a year. Thanks in advance.

USA model Beetles were 1500cc engines with H engine numbers.

However, if that engine has been rebuilt, it might be 1600cc now as those cylinders simply slip in, and 1500cc (83mm) cylinders and pistons haven't been made for a while.
