|
|
parked in '74. 52K original miles. OG turkis paint, etc etc. we picked it up tonight, and after a few headaches, we finally got it back to the shop. this will be my friend Chris's bus, and plans include getting it road worthy and down in the weeds.

not sure yet. it looks like it was professionally installed back in the 60's. i think there is a receipt from Car City of Concord (VW) for it, but it's so old and damaged it's hard to tell.
any input would be awesome. _________________ Ostküste

That's a Travel Equipment Corporation camper Greg. Since it's a '64, I don't know if it's a VWOA consigned Campmobile or one of TEC's own Sportmobiles however. If the former, there may still be a sticker on the side of the closet ID'ing it.
It's fasincating to see this style of kit though, basically the so-42 layout, in a '64 bus however. I'd been wondering whether the VWOA kits that were exported to Germany in '62 and '63 (and possibly '64) and installed in Panels were influenced by Westfalia or an influence on Westfalia, I think I just got my answer.
Cool bus submachinegun! |

you guys not on the east coast have no clue. some of the stuff i see you west coast guys part out makes me want to cry, haha. we save some pretty haggard VWs here, because it's what we're forced to work with.
that's not shit, check out the 64 dlx we picked up.

You gotta get that license plate restored and keep it on the bus!
No way they'd let you keep it as rusty as it is... _________________ drive it. break it. fix it. repeat. |
