This is the original block from my ‘73. As you can see it is a nice, low number. Unfortunately, when I bought the car it had about a gallon of water inside the block and it is total trash. It’s been sitting on a shelf in my garage for a few years now because I couldn’t bring myself to throw it out. I can’t think of what use it would be to someone, but if anyone wants it before I toss it it’s yours. I’m going to pull any remaining hardware off of it that I need to use on a replacement AM block that I bought from another Samba user some time ago. I’m located near Philadelphia. Can I assume since this is block number 000459 that my Thing was the 459th ‘73 Thing to be manufactured, or does it not work that way? I hope you are all well, I haven’t been on The Samba for quite awhile as life has kept me busy. Been spending lots of time driving my Bus and I’m hoping to finally get some work done on my Thing this summer. My twins are nine and they are at the point where they are interested in working on it with me. Hopefully you’ll be seeing more of me soon.

I'm going to be in Philly mid-July. If that's ok with you, I'll take it. I'll trade you a 4-pack from our brewery also. |
