Hi all,
I have a standard 30hp engine with a speedwell supercharger & bosch 010 distributor.
I would like to increase a bit more power without to much maching work.
Can I upgrade the rocker valves & spring. Or do I need to upgrade the cam as well. If so what would I need & where can I obtain them
I'm new to this. I would appreciate some info
Thanks Dave

You can buy okrasa valves and springs from a wolfsburg west..but you can check your local vw shop that carries wolfsburg west products if they do they most likely can get them for you ...i belive the okrasa camshaft can be used as well ....
Remember these pepco/ speedwell superchargers ran on stock 1100cc /1200cc stock cam ..so a okrasa mild cam wouldn't be bad and 33mm okrasa intake should be fine ....if you can get some ratio rocker arms.... you can also use a bigger carb like a solex 32 pci .....but than again some will say 28pci is fine ...
If its in the budget I would have the 64mm crank counterweight
80mm bore ...a pepco/ speedwell is a better option for the bigger 1300cc to 1500cc engines than a judson supercharger..
Link below ....this person is using a 34 pci

I would try some ratio rockers first since you’re still running a stock cam. Easy small upgrade without splitting the case.

Only down side with just adding rocker arms with ratio rocker arms is the lifters ..he would need the 2 piece lifters and need new push rods and running new lifters on a used old cam is no good must match new lifters with new cam ...so its more than just add ratio rocker arm on a 36hp now if his engine has the updated lifters already ok fine easy just get the new pushrods and ratio rocker arms but most likely his engine has all the stock parts so it needs more than just add ratio rocker arms ....
