Introduction — hello from SFBA CA USA

I just joined and wanted to introduce myself. I live near San Francisco but am from the northeast US, from Upstate New York. I don’t own a Samba but I sure do admire them! I learned how to drive a stick on a 1976 Microbus. And then I owned a 1982 Vanagon with the diesel engine. What a dog that thing was.

I have a ‘63 Porsche 356 B and I saw the dedicated subforum here, so that’s where I’ll likely hang out.

I’m fortunate to live near Pebble Beach and was just there for the Concours d'Elegance. Some amazing cars there! I went to the auction viewing for Gooding Christie’s and, wow there were some beauties there. I drooled over the deep blue 1968 Lamborghini Miura P400 and the bidding for that was going to start around $1.75M. It sold for $1.765M. There was also the Ferris Bueller car there, a 1961 Ferrari 250 GT California Spyder. They were going to start the bidding around $20 million. It eventually sold for just over $25 million and set a record for this type. Crazy!

One morning while getting a coffee in Pacific Grove I met a guy named Billy from Morgan Hill selling his 1964 21 window VW Microbus. I was admiring it and thought I could share it here. I don’t know him or his Microbus, but his number is 408-482-1492, if anyone might be interested.

Anyway it’s nice to ‘e-meet’ you and I look forward to learning from you and sharing with you here.

Oops, I should have clarified. When I spoke with the seller I said I plan to post about his Microbus, and he gave me permission to post his number.

I should have stated that in my original. Still OK, or no?

I put it back but might try to remove it in a month or so just so he doesn't get calls next year for something that might be long gone.
