Took my Dad to a Labor Day party. He enjoyed the ride.

Where you driving this weekend? I got out today for a little cruise. Everything went great until about 1 mile from the end of the trail when my front driver shock came loose from the top. Limped home and fixed it. But still a great ride.

| I bounced between the '65 Skylark and the '65 C10 on the Rods & Hogs cruise Saturday, but I did take the Top Banana to the gym on Sunday. |

Joe always has the best pictures. Are you a professional photographer Joe?
I also envy where you live. Northern CA is nice but there's not much open area to explore off road like Utah, unless you're willing to travel several hours away to some BLM land.
For now, this chapter of my life I'm grounded to the bay area. |

Joe, keep an eye out for a light metalic green 2025 Bentley Azure in your area today 9/9/2025.
Road and track is road testing one in Utah. They were at the Bonneville Salt Flats Sunday afternoon making some speed runs until, The Bentley factory driver went to fast on a qualifying run and was disqualified.
Who takes a $348K car out on the salt?
Talking with the Road and Track writers they stated that their next stop was in Moab.
The R&T writers are nice, the Bentley factory guys are smug!
I told the R&T writers to keep an eye out for your car. If they see you, they may flag you down.
EDIT: Pics added. After all, Bentley is a VW product line vehicle.

Anyone with the opportunity to do so without paying for the car.
I ran a Charger out there in '19. It was a blast! That said, El Mirage in a Mustang this past April was a close second.

Well thanks for the nice words, I wish I was a professional dog, bike and baja photographer, but alas my fate is to be a info sec nerd. I am pretty stoked that I get to work fully remote.
I'll keep an eye out for the Bentley! I'll drive the baja into town later today.
Did y'all see the "World's Fastest Indian" movie? Pretty cool salt flats movie.

Yup! We watch that movie yearly as a prep for the Assault on the Salt.
Funny, I stayed in the room next to the scene where Burt was applying shoe polish on his tires at the Motel 6. _________________ I have learned over the years.

I wish. I did that on a totally unprepped surface without any support other than a buddy filming. It was not at all safe. I lifted at the moment that I thought "hey, I have a wife and kid, I probably shouldn't die here today". |

Its amazing what you will do when you are young and dumb. I recall in highschool it was a badge of honor to hit 120mph on the expressway in our parents cars. Nuts!

OK, where did you/are you driving this weekend? I wired up the seat heaters just in time for a big storm to come through and cool off the air. Seat heat is amazing when the baja has no heat.

Y'all should meet Layla, we adopted her yesterday. She's 9 and her elderly owner could no longer care for her.
Lou demanded a ride next, he knows of no such concept as "personal space".

Pic #1, Layla is a keeper. Good on you for rescuing another Basset Hound.
Pic #2, Appears to be a couple of happy trail riders enjoying the countryside.
Love the pics Joe. Thanks for sharing! _________________ I have learned over the years.

I have to admit, I did not drive the baja much this weekend, took it down to meet my buddy and tinker with the carb, adjusted the door latch so it closes better and took the pup for a ride. Then I went bikepacking, which was pretty great.
What'd y'all do?

I spent the entire weekend in a portable carport sand blasting my tacoma frame.
20+ hrs and 1000lbs of black beauty
It sucked but it's done. No Baja fun. _________________ Brian H.

Picked the kid up from school in the sand rail, took the '65 Skylark to a funeral (160 miles of back roads round trip ), and worked on the engine bay of the '73 Mustang. |
