https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1974-volkswagen-type-181-4/

The link has all of the info.

This will be my third Thing I have a 73 and had a 74 that I sold last year that was in rough shape.

My 73 was manufactured in Germany and assembled in Mexico, as we all know.

This 74 was manufactured and assembled in Mexico so the Speedo is metric.
If you view the "Light Electrical Check" video in the listing the Oil light is not working and that is a question that I'll post/research here later.

My question is what is the Red Light on the Speedo between 40 and 60 KM marks?

I think it maybe some type of speed indicator mark.

Besides the Heater differences what are the other differences between a 73 Germany Mexican Thing and a 74 manufactured and assembled Mexican Thing?

I'm using the Bring A Trail Verified Checkout app for the first time so I'll see how that works and I cannot wait to see it roll off of the carrier into my arms!

I welcome any and all observations on this Thing.

Thanks
71/72KGER aka Chris

Not sure about the "Red Light" but my '73 from Germany, assembled in Germany had a "Red Line" between 40 and 60kph to identify 50kph, which is the speed limit in most cities in Germany.

Your going to have fun with the wiring. You should know that the wiper motor and assembly is from a pre-'73 Safari and the turn signal and wiper motor switches are from maybe '80's water cooled VW. That wiper switch normally will not operate the wiper motor correctly.
