I'm not sure I've posted this before on this thread but here goes.
Trying to find some history on company "Carrier's Claim Service".
Its a Los Angeles delivered vehicle and as far as I know, it's been in LA from day one?
I bought it many years ago from a long time local VW bus guy Lynden Kneeland who said that he acquired it from a VW parts shop back in the 80'-90's. The shop was Jerry's VW heaven in Downey CA. I actually remember this place back in the day.
I've tried my local library and searched through period directories and found nothing on "Carrier's Clam Service"
I suspect other logo's may be on the doors but I have not got to stripping it back to unveil a possible answer to my question.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I don't think 'carrier's' is the name of the company. I think it refers to the fact they specialise in insurance claims for transport/haulage companies. I suspect the specific name will be on the doors. apparently in the post-war boom motor carriers found it difficult to get reasonable insurance cover until they set-up their own trade specific insurance companies. this extract is from 'the insurance industry'

Finster,
that makes total sense. I am sure the logos on the doors will tell the tail.
I just don't want to start that paint stripping process yet. Someone with experience in paint stripping will most likely be doing it for me down the road.
Thanks for the reply.

I have old logos on the door of my kombi It says B&B Electric 1616 Smmerdal RO 1 1117 Chicago Ill. I will get some photos hopefully today. Im in the process of uncovering them .They appear to white and on the O/G paint under a white roll on paint layer . _________________ Vw collection 60 combi ,61 panel ,62 deluxe micro,82 diesel Westfalia,88 Vanagon synchro,98 Jetta tdi,11 Jetta tdi mt ,11 Jetta tdi dsg.

Thanks ,I'll sure be looking. The O/G paint was adorned with logos first then someone rolled on a later of white paint and than it was sprayed red,so it may take a bit of effort. _________________ Vw collection 60 combi ,61 panel ,62 deluxe micro,82 diesel Westfalia,88 Vanagon synchro,98 Jetta tdi,11 Jetta tdi mt ,11 Jetta tdi dsg.
