Looks like one of those 5000btu air conditioning home "window units" adapted to hang in the open Safari window to cool that panel down. Ingenious!
On occasion I use one in the drivers door roll-down window in our Vanagon camper to do the same. It never dawned on me to try fitting ours in our '67 Bus's Safari passenger side windshield for camping! You'd just have to cobble up some kind of sealing boot and hanging strap affair.
Kewl & cool!

Love how the stripe follows the dogleg curve and disappears into the bottom gap. Very stylish. _________________ nothing |

What service does that ^^^ red Panel offer? |
Not sure. The page has a couple other different panel vans with tools and drawers pictured on it. It is the one page in the book with no visible logos. |
Deutz is a Manufacturer of Diesel engines. I am fairly sure, that this is a service van which was used to service Deutz Diesel engines. The engines were used in trucks, taktors and as stationary engines.
Online collection of Deutz engines: https://fmd.koeln/rundgang-motorensammlung.html |
Not any old diesel engines, they are known for their air-cooled diesel engines. When I was a kid we had a couple of their tractors on the farm, fantastic machines. |
Wolf Fieber in Vienna was the Deutz tractor importer for Austria. just googled his name _________________ regards

Looks like the vise is on a slide out mechanism. Probably good to have that vise outside the bus for longer work pieces, and maybe some work with a torch/hammer/punch/whatever. _________________ nothing |

Schlepper is German for tractor. Fahr was a manufacturer of diesel tractors until they were bought by Deutz sometime in the late 60s. I think they still produce tractors under the Duetz-Fahr name. |
