and, yes, "to schlep" and the german schlepper are the same root word.
The Güldner bus was also a service vehicle for another now defunct (1991) german tractor manufacturer. Founded in 1904.

Dieselschlepper?
As in: "Internal Combustion Bus for Schlepping Diesel Engine Parts"?
|
Schlepper is German for tractor. Fahr was a manufacturer of diesel tractors until they were bought by Deutz sometime in the late 60s. I think they still produce tractors under the Duetz-Fahr name. |
Deutz-Fahr belongs the Italian SAME group since 1995. No more Deutz Traktors but SAME uses Deutz engines. _________________ - Michael

I love the portable milking machine single cab in the middle, but what is the bus at the bottom. Some sort of radio or television demonstration showroom maybe?
Anyway, thanks for posting these Lind, I'm really enjoying all of these period photos of early commercial busses. |

I think the barndoor has appliances like a washing machine in it.
Glad you like the photos. I only have 400 or so left to post.... _________________ .

Gotta love a logo'd 23
Even the regional distributor was putting trucker mirrors on trucks.
I'm sure lots of folks in the pacific northwest are happy to see the Riviera Motors singlecab.
