I'm looking to switch my daily driver over to an HEI solid state igniton. Can anybody point me to the best distributerless igniiton out there?

The DIS-X system uses 4 coil packs for a HEI system. It still uses a distributor to trigger the control box. But the spark plug wires run directly to the DIS-X box.

You probibly can convert it to a "crank trigger" and totally eliminate the distributor.

is that it, or is there anything better? I really wasn't looking to buy a 009 so that i could go distributerless.

Maybe Barry32 will sell you his. (sorry.. i couldn't resist).

I think it requires the 009 due to the points replacement has to fit. You could look into a crank fire, but then you have no advance.
