Thing seats

I bought my first thing and am wondering what year lowback beetle seats will fit the original tracks

I believe that the only Beetle seats that will slide right on to the Thing tracks are from a '71 or '72, but I'm unsure whether there's a distinction between Beetle and Super Beetle tracks. In either case, they're high-backs.

Do you still have the original Thing seats? Reupholstering the frames is pretty easy. I did mine w/ a kit from The Thing Shop about 10 years ago, and they still look good today. It comes with a video that walks you through it.
