i had an early 64 (icepick door handles, early declkid prop, 15" wheels) 21 window, mouse grey/pearl white. vin was 1177288. anyone own it now?
also had a (originally painted) 61 mouse grey/pearl white flipseat westy. now that bus/color combo is pretty "rare". _________________ thebucket: I invested in hoodride, now DBD won't return my call?

who! I love this mouse grey color but being here on the east coast there are none to speak to look at, I actually have a 356 conv D that I want to paint mouse grey with a taupe canvas top but I can't visualize the color because in some pics it looks a little brownish and others straight grey, any other pictures of anything this mouse grey??? would be a great help, I actually went and got a spray bomb of it made at my local paint store but believe it or not, I still can't completely tell the exact shade, all diff lights make it appear diff. I really think the only way to choose a color is having seen it on a car. |

yea, really good point, you even have to take into consideration the fade factor, thanks for the pics. hey, if you had to describe the color what would you say, to me I see a slight brownish grey, and my friends from seeing the pics only see just grey, what do ya think/? |

Here's another pic of my bus. 64 21 window walk thru. Mostly og paint but pretty rough. Lots of body and rust repair. Not much interior to speak of. Only have rusty front seat frames and a westy bed. I love to see any vw in its og paint. I hate to remove the og paint, however since it is rough with no interior and I'm reaching the point where I'll need to do the repairs needed. I don't have the place right now where I can tear it totaly apart and do a full resto so I'll be stuck with doing the repairs and rolling it in primer. When the time is right, it will be restored to all its original glory. Or maybe I'll cut it up into another Boxrod. OK probably to its original glory. _________________ and take the kids for instance "Are we going in the Volkswagen bus?" and they say "Yay!" and clap their hands and if it's a glorious day you can slide the sunroof back and let a little of the glory in and all of a sudden, it stops looking funny.

OK, I'm trying to pick a color to paint my 356 and I love mouse grey, on splits. I've only seen the color in pictures but depending on the lighting its tought to nail down exactly what it lookds like. I just noticed this 356 and this IS the color I want, but its not a factory porsche color, what da ya think? All you who've seen mouse grey, is this it, or really close, I love it, but again because of different lighting conditions it might look different. thanks for your help I can't figure out how to paste a link to it so here the auction # 140104382505, thankyou |

It's almost imposible to tell on a computer screen but I'd say that It's pretty close. Perhaps you can try contacting the owner? _________________ and take the kids for instance "Are we going in the Volkswagen bus?" and they say "Yay!" and clap their hands and if it's a glorious day you can slide the sunroof back and let a little of the glory in and all of a sudden, it stops looking funny.

thanks, I thought so to. I contacted them but they don't know the paint code. But thats all I really wanted just some confirmation that I was seeing it as really close. Without the benefit of seeing the color in person its so hard to tell, so your opinion really helps. |
