Mint....LOL...
nice bus FARRRR from mint...unless you like square rocker panels made from god knows what..HUGE hacked in steel patch panels tacked under the flipseat arms poorly....hmmm this bus was a rusted out ROT MONSTER and was obviously pieced back together quickly and poorly then slapped with a new paint job. That thing has some BAD stuff lurking under that paint my friend...definitely a "suckers" bus who ever pays big for it.
You notice there is not one picture of the underneath...?
Now it CAN be a sweet bus, nice interior and all...it just needs a full strip down and restoration to correct all that mess... _________________ Samba Member #95 |

Didn`t look at the ad properly - I though it was an og paint bus!LOL Was trying to pass on a "good deal" to someone Thanks for putting up the correct info Todd before someone quickly looks at it like I did, thinks it`s an og paint bus etc, and actually bids on it. Grim
Sounds like one to steer well clear of unless it was a third of the money and you intended to restore it. |

I wonder what a "mild Porsche cam" is?
I get pretty leery when the text reads like a car salesman's speal and ends with terms that pretty much say "I have to have all your money in my bank account and then I'll decide if I'll give you anything for it." |

You wanna hear the "salesman speech"...here is a link to the auction...wait for the little ding dong and whole snake oil
sales pitch he tries to sell you...he makes this thing sound like
the Holy Friggin' grail !
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1962-VW-Volkswagen-Westfalia...dZViewItem
What a bunch of hot air and half assed facts he tosses out...
only 6 in the USA...damn I think I have owned 6 of them myself
over the years...one of the nicest in existence...hmmm far from it...
This is a nice bus with a beautiful interior and all..but man that thing was ROTTED badly at one time. After the past year I consider myself an expert on rotted out flipseats LOL.
I would say it is a $7500-$10,000 bus as it sits depending how bad
she really is underneath...but $20,000?! YIKES _________________ Samba Member #95 |

OMG, I also took a closer look after reading the above posts. In the first picture it looks like a big unsanded blotch of bondo is bulging out from the side. I like how he posted it on UK Egay, some scammer hick thinking he will get enough for that wreck to pay off his mobile home. Fell sorry for the limey who ends up with it.

A $20,000 interior...hmmm I paid $2000 for this one
Seriously it is a nice bus, just I think the point is it the seller is really
pulling the wool over someones eyes with his descriptions and incorrect facts.
Looks like it ended at 20,000 US... _________________ Samba Member #95 |

What was he asking when for sale locally?
I wonder if the UK eBay sale he did was intentional. He has to know of the problems lurking under the paint. He could have taken advantage of the high prices the UK folks pay, plus once they get it there and find the problems out with the bus what the heck can they 'legally' do....hmmmm _________________ Samba Member #95 |

Had to be intentional, cause you decide which venue to sell it on. He must be savvy enough to know that the big money is coming out of the UK and they are crazy enough to sehll out big money for buses that are sight unseen.

Now...that is a fair price. I thought to myself...looks like a $7500 bus...$10,000 maybe if someone REALLY wanted it.
Well...I guess in the UK with the exchange rate it might be a $7500 bus in their costs...anyone know who got it? _________________ Samba Member #95 |

Whenever you see an Ebay auction end with two bids, both by the same bidder, at the same price, you gotta believe that shenanigans are rampant. _________________ Founder and Chairman Emeritus, ECMSAS
