Just wanted to say hi all. Been reading the forum for several days, have learned more about VW's in the last week than I knew in my entire life.
Anyway, my wife and I just bought a '74 beetle, (she had one a long time ago, and has wanted another one ever since) it needs quite a bit of work but runs and drives great!
Hoping to have it ready to go for Eureka Springs next yr., so I'm sure I'll be full of questions! (Although I've already had several answered by doing a search on the forum).

Is you Beetle a Super or a Standard?
1974 is a great year. I've owned mine for 30 years. _________________ Glenn

Thanks for the welcome folks!
Ours is a standard I believe. However, it does have the Wolfsburg crest on the steering wheel, shift knob, and "volkswagen brougham" with the crest on the front qtr panels. I thought this was discontinued in '63
(I did a search on the forum for "brougham")
I drove it to town today to get it inspected/licensed. I think I'm in love.... |

Does it have struts in the front suspension?
That will pretty much answer your question of Standard or Super.
Either way...welcome. Post pics when you can...we love pics here. _________________ HAC - Houston Air Coolers

Using the search function first was a good idea. You will fit in well here no matter what air-cooled your driving with that attitude. Welcome. |
