I emailed Antonio last night with my parts needs. He wrote today, provided prices, and promptly sent me a PayPal money request. I paid him and he said the parts will ship tomorrow!!!
As I started this thread, I thought I'd ask Miguel at BTLMEX flat out what the problem was. Two orders simply ignored... As our Mexi came from him, I'd like to do business with him.
Anyway, I emailed him today and hope to hear from him. _________________ Marty in Kerrville |

UPDATE
In my last post I emailed Miguel (BeetleMex) a long note, asking why my orders were never filled.
I never received a reply...
I did however order my parts from Antonio (PartsVW). I received an immediate response, and he shipped my parts the next day!!!! _________________ Marty in Kerrville |

Does anyone know where in Nogales (AZ or Mexico) Btlmex is? I may be passing through there in a couple days and could stop in to see what's up. |

Sounds as if you should buy the car from Miguel and the replacements parts from Antonio. |

I received a nice reply from Miguel at BeetleMex explaining that he has restructured the company, and will now be able to ship parts faster.
I noticed he has readied my order and charged my CC. I appreciate his explanation and look forward to a more positive business relationship. _________________ Marty in Kerrville |

That's good for Miguel to look into the problems he's had with his business. I wish him the best of luck in the future.
As for me, it's too little too late. I'll watch to see if anyone has postive remarks about their dealings him BTLMEX. Maybe several months from now, if their have been no negative posts, I'll reconsider sending my money in his direction.
I'm all for given people another chance, but at the same time, I keep remebering the old saying:

I registered with The Samba yesterday and read the messages from 2005 regarding BtlMex. Unfortunately, I wish I had known about this last June 2005 when I ordered $179 worth of parts from them. I never received my order, nor a refund. Follow-up telephone calls and emails to them only resulted in excuses. I can understand, and accept it, if the guy isn't able to fill my order because he's having problems getting them from Mexico...but to keep my money?! That's theft...and I wonder how many others who have done business with him have suffered the same fate. |

I had a similar problem. They did ship a partial order, but I never received the rest of the parts nor a refund for them. Thieves! |

Antonio,
Can I get a copy of the illustrated parts guide for beetles? I have a 1971 project and that book would be invaluable. Btlmex had the book for about 50 bucks.
Thanks.

I had the same problem with Beetle Mex. Send a money order for a speedometer and he cashed it and never sent the item. Thank god the Post Office backed me up and refunded my money order. _________________ 1964 Beetle Convertible |

I have a 73 Super Beetle. I need some decent seats. What do you have, that would fit? My Super is actually the SportsBug Model. Can you get the SportsBug steering wheels?
Thanks!
Jim

I have in stock genuine VW seats, those seats have the 3 mounting points, each one on each leg and then the 3rd is in the middle on the front. This seats fits in classic Beetle, Super Beetle never was made in Mexico.
A pair of seats costs $415 USD plus $325 for FedEx shipping cost to the USA
One year ago I sold a pair of seats to Clint M. He got special seat covers in greay velour $455 USD

The SportsBug steering wheel was never in Mexico. Any steering wheel from Mexico will not fit your car because the spline was changed in 74.
The seats Antonio can sell you will fit your Super's seat tracks. The only difference is the way the slider lock works. Instead of the levers on the tunnel, they are made like all other seats in the world, with a lever under the front edge of the seat. To use the Mex seats, just remove the connecting rod that goes from the tunnel to the seat pedestal. |
