How easy or difficult is it to attach a new pop top canvas?
I like the three window design and am considering it but
don't want to wreck anything if it's difficult to attach.
'83 Westy.

It's not too hard, it'll just take a bit of time. There are several descriptions of the job online if you google for it, mostly for baywindow busses, but the idea is the same.

I put a new 3 window canvas on my 80/82 ..
I took me about 2 hours after the top was off and cleaned.
Its best to borrow or rent a heavy duty staple gun.
The harest part was lifting the top back on all by my self.
When I had the top off i bleached the inside and out side and sprayed on a new gel coat with a Airless sprayer.
the top came out like new. |

I replaced the tent on a late Bay Westy top, and it took a few hours - I'm not sure how the bottom trim attaches on the vanagons, but that was the biggest pain - all those little screws that hold the trim down. _________________ <---Air Cooled Search & Rescue Team - STICKERS & T-shirts for sale!
