|
|
mornin all
ok, on my 74 SB, i have the non-vacuum (009?) distributer, which could stand to be rebuilt.
A buddy of mine just gave me a vacuum dist. from his bug part collection (which could be rebuilt also) but i'm wondering which one would be better for a daily driver.......
is one better than the other?
Thoughts? input? |

It depends on which vacuum advance distributor you have.
The 009 is not my favorite, but they do work. _________________ Glenn

Look at the number on the vacuum advance one, and see what it's for. If it's for a comparable application, then you'd be better off rebuilding it, and keeping the 009 as a spare. _________________ <---Air Cooled Search & Rescue Team - STICKERS & T-shirts for sale!

I have heard that it also depends on what kind of carb you are running. _________________ 1962 beetle in the works |

That's a 75-79 fuel injected distributor. I'm not sure how that will work on your engine. _________________ Glenn

hmmmm, thanx for the info. i woulda thought it was a regular beetle dist.....but then again i don't know beetles LOL
i'll do some checking around and see what i can find. maybe it would be better to just rebuild my 009 and add the Pertronix unit to it........... |
