Even though this film is humorous, I would regard the "Ghia sighting" as a joke from you- that blue convertible in background is the same model as the white one in right foreground- Peugeot 404 Convertible. Here's one for sale, with a similar perspective as the white one in Trylon's shot- https://www.erclassics.com/peugeot-404-cabriolet-injection-1968-p1524/#lg=1&slide=23

I thought he meant the car more in the upper left.
Maybe he though that was a Type 34?
It looks like a Corvair but not sure that would be correct given the other cars pictured here

Yep that one..

On closer inspection it is a Corviar..... single tail lights and uninterrupted waistline on the Corvair versus single tail light and the creased waist line on the Type 34.

New Netflix movie “ Love Guaranteed”. Haven’t watched yet but the Ghia seems to be owned by one of the main characters.

^^^ Yes, one of the main characters, a lawyer, drives it as her daily driver in the movie.

It's in a lot of scenes.

The driver's door handle keeps falling off when gets out, she keeps it in her bag when she's away from the car.

The inside is black and looks pretty nice, I was wondering if they put some crappy orange paint and dirt on the outside to make it look in worse condition and also so you can see it more clearly in some scenes vs. a black Ghia.

Just watched “Love Guaranteed”. Guessing this rom-com won’t please this particular crowd, but the Ghia IS in a lot of scenes and is actually an important part of the movie. Wondering if there are other movies where a Ghia is highlighted as much as this one. Fun to see

Long Way Down, 2007. A Ghia seen on the Italian highway. Part of a group of classic cars touring Europe.

Dark blue Ghia Coupe briefly seen in the movie "The Driver" (1978) during the car chase in the beginning of the movie. It is avoiding the blue 1974 Ford Galaxie 500 driven by The Driver (actor Ryan O'Neal), and it does not get hit. Rear bumper full-width towel bars and seemingly flat hubcaps makes the year range from '66 thru '69. Screen shot gives appearance of a Cabriolet with the top down, but looking at the video a few times, you can see the rear roof pillars. IMDB lists location as downtown Los Angeles, California.

I agree with your initial thought that it's a cabriolet. To me it does looks like top down with drivers window up. I don't think we would see the clear view through the front windshield with a coupe in that position. Also it looks like we can see the passenger front pillar. Very difficult to determine for sure?

^ ^ The Ghia appears at ~1:50 in this sequence of the car chase.

Link

And there's another Ghia in the second car chase in this movie! The Driver is chasing a purse snatcher team that stole the purse from The Player (Isabelle Adjani). The Driver and The Player are in his hopped-up red Chevy or GMC pickup and backs out of a small parking lot. There is a dark grey or black Ghia coupe parked, which has a white/ivory/Pearl White roof, roof rack, and 5-spoke "Jackman" style wheels. Taillights, bumper towel bars, narrow rear track and white steering wheel place it between a '60 thru '65. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=znjWoOiSzd0

'The Streets of San Francisco" TV show 1973 episode "Before I die", season 2, ep. 4. Red Ghia coupe driving in the city, per a long zoom shot at the very beginning of a car chase*. Flat hubcaps and visible headrests make this either a '68 or '69. Ivory bay window bus and yellow Beetle are parked on the left (arrows).

"Foul Play" (1978) filmed on the steep streets in San Francisco, California, police detective Tony Carlson (Chevy Chase) and Gloria Mundy (Goldie Hawn) commandeer several vehicles- Lincoln Town Car, Chevy Pickup/camper, and Cadillac stretch limousine; and race around the streets. Fastback, Squareback, Ghia Coupe, Beetles, Splittie bus and Baywindow camper are seen.

Carwash 1976.
I watched this movie at the Drive-In back in the day in my 67 Ghia. I’m rewatching on Starz (I think). There is a fat chick in the first 10 minutes.
Feel the groove😀

Movie "Battle of the Godfathers", 1976 filmed in Hamburg, Germany. Mid '60's Chrysler Imperial driven by character Luca Messina (actor Henry Silva; e.g., "The Manchurian Candidate" 1962) is being chased by a meager Fiat sedan and crashes into this poor '66 blue Ghia Coupe parked on the side of the street.

At the end of the chase, Messina bails out of the "Chrysler" (appears to have been replaced by a late '60's Mercury Brougham) just before it plunges into the Hamburg bay. Another Ghia Coupe is in background (2-toned?), mid-'64 or '65 due to domed hubcaps, black wheels, and VOLKSWAGEN emblem to left of the lic. plate.

from "The Rock"
Segment also spotted by Wiggy in 2006.

More photos and background: Movie filmed in San Francisco, California. The car chase starts with John Patrick Mason (Sean Connery) driving off in a Hummer. During his high-speed run he hits the Van Ness & Market Street cablecar strong enough to knock it off its tracks and its guide cable so that it slides/freely rolls down a hill. It crashes into a '75 Chevy Blazer which blows up in a huge explosion, then slides to a stop. In front of the Blazer is a rough '70/'71 Ghia Coupe.

Remarkably the Ghia escapes the fire damage, as seen in the final shot.

I put some shots of the Bay Window bus on the left into the Bay Gallery Wink . IMDB lists the location as the New Russian Hill Market on 1198 Pacific Ave. in SF.

My wife and I have been watching the old Wonder Woman TV series on HBO Max. In Season 3 Ep 20 ("The Man Who Wouldn't Tell") at 10:04 an orange Ghia appears.

HBO Max has it listed in season 3 but I think originally it was season 2.

"Live and Let Die" (1973)- James Bond movie filmed partly in New York City. Bond (first appearance of Roger Moore) is in a taxi following the tan Cadillac in foreground. 2 Ghias are parked across the street. "W 111 St" runs 1 way east to west. The large 2-direction street is Broadway, with the Ghias facing southbound. This location is a few blocks south of Columbia University.
