Well, today was the first day I took my thing on the interstate. When I turned on heat lever and left the defrost one down I was ok for awhile then smoke started coming in. It only did it when the defrost lever was down. what does that mean? |

It means your valve cover gaskets are leaking. |

Yea, It could mean that, or really an oil leak form somewhere. I also get exhuast sometimes if I have an exhuast leak, worth checking. The defrost lever opens and closes a diaphram flap in the plastic Y's on each side of the center hump underneth the rear seat. So smoke should be coming from there also. The defrost lever really has nothing to do with the smoke, other than what hole it comes out. The problem is the oil leak. _________________ Cool runnins,

Or the last engine leaked oil and this is the first time the heater box has gotten hot enough to burn off some of the oil while the heater or defrost lever has been raised. If there is no oil leak of exhaust leak then it will eventually quite smoking. Better make sure it's not an exhaust leak into the heater. That carbon monoxide can be deadly. |
