Nice view from my deck...
My almost finished '59 DC gets a visit from a buddies' '65 21-window Deluxe, both recently painted by the same local body guy. Nice to see them together...

When the "Goat-el" grows up, I want it to look just like this. Kinda reminds me of a pic of Mickey Rourke. Pretty beat up, but smiling and having a blast! _________________ "My biggest worry is that when I die, my wife will sell all my parts for what I told her I paid for them"-Jon

This photo is awesome, it looks like one of the photos from an old VW Bus brochure. |
Thanks Everett. As soon as I loaded it into my computer and saw it big, I immediately thought the same "old brochure" thing too. Like the commercial vehicle brochure from the early 60's. I just wish the DC had the cab window frames together and all four Dove Grey hubcaps on for the shot. Oh well, it's getting there soon...
Everett, you might recognize the '65 Deluxe as new AZ resident Roy Jonas' Bus. He finished the restoration of that Deluxe two years ago while living here, then moved to Phoenix. He drove all the way back from PHX to STL to attend our BNNTA camping weekend. Beautiful Bus and a great guy! Great... big... balls too! He hopped into this 21-window Bus with a fairly new (less than 500 miles) 2110 motor and drove 30 hours straight to the event. After the event Roy dropped by my house to see the DC in person, and right now he's headed back to PHX via Las Vegas by himself in that cool Deluxe. Safe roadtrip Roy!

I love that both of them are running bumper blades only. Looks so much better than they would with over riders clogging up the view.
My opinion, of course. _________________ nothing |
