Again Icy read my posts. This car is a vw trends cover car.It is stored in a temp controled garage and started and run until the engine comes to temp during the times it could not be driven.Like I said previous Kam motors is well known in the marketplace for their work mybe not for vw but for vintage porsche work.how could you defend a company with such a rep.I may have found out too late but at least I amwilling to go the distance with Gex to resolve my problem. As for you I gessing you must own stock in Gex.I love vw's it is a pasion of mine as is yours why are you being a prick.A fellow vw nut gets screwed by a company that has a negative better business bureau record has multiple cases with the atty general and screawed other fellow samba readersWhats your deal?

Why diddn't you have them build it then? If they can do vintage Porsche then they could build a VW engine?

I think you went the distance already... 2 year warranty or not I doubt you'll ever get anything out of GEX. Ever read thier warranty? I find it hard to believe they would even have an "implied" warranty on a 2110

So why did you not research this first before you bought from them?

I don't think Icy is defending them at all... where do you get that?

When I purchased the car(off an ad from samba) the engine a 1776 cc engine has major problems that would cost too much to repair. In a jam I needed an engine fast.Kam does build engines and patience is not one of my stronger virtues.I saw an ad for gex and ad taken by their ads.Big mistake!!!!!But in my defence they offered me a 2 yr written warrenty no one else in the industry would even give me 1 yr on a 2110cc-30-60 days at best.As for me already going the distance i think not the company that I work for covers my attorney bills so i could care less if i need to go that route it costs me 29.99 a month for representation. As for Icy well he constantly is pointing the blame at me.I did not build the engine. If Gex does not pay they are in breach of contract due to my 2 yr warranty.I do not want to argue- facts are facts.I made a mistake and am paying for it but i'm taking Gex down with me!!!!

I pointed out flaws in your argument that will and do work against you. I did not mention your lack of writing skills and atrocious spelling.

Re-read your owns posts and you'll find where your own arguments are shooting yourself in the foot. I have been playing what's called "The Devil's Advocate".

Just because GEX has a bad reputation with the BBB doesn't mean you're going to take them down.

In short, you're delusional and won't admit you made a mistake and want everyone to throw a pity party for you and cry with you.

I would never buy a GEX motor, so I can't help your legal battle, but I am glad you are holding them accountable. Good luck.

Thank you.I'm a small guy with a pitbull attitude.Ionly want what is owed to me nothing more nothing less. But i will go to what ever extent I need to; to get it.Maybe I'm old school or just nieve but a businessman or woman who stands behind their product needs to do so in time of good and bad not whenever they feel like it.

I have never done any business with GEX and never will, as I was warned about them early on. If you have a case against them, best of luck. It sucks that a hobby that has so much camraderie can have a nationally-known business giving people...well, 'the business.'

Ruby - I wasn't aware that any northeast shows were 'invitationals;' what event are you referring to? Also, do you have any pics of your car to share? I'd honestly like to see it. If it's a northeast car, I'm sure we've crossed paths at some event. Cool

I was hardly offended. It takes a lot offend me.

Either way, your battle with GEX is akin to pissing in the wind. Not a good idea.

I cant wait till someone screws you, im going to sit back and laugh and tell you its your fault. Bottom line is your an ass and blind to see the side of the person that is trusting and trys to do things right. But more than quick to defend an untruthful seller or company. What is it ? You see yourself in them or what.

I was talking about the attitude. I read this guys post A. if he had a 2yr. war. it still should be covered & i know i have bought things for a project and did not get around to using it till later maybe a year or more. I see everyones responces thats cool they can have there opinion. AS for Manny he is the worst person in vw's i have met so far and i will never deal with him again. You can think im wrong if you want but i think you should be able to trust what people say.

What prompted you to buy a GEX for your show car in the first place?

rudy may not have handled this right (at all) but what the fuck?

a lot of people out there don't know the first thing about engines. i don't blame rudy for taking his mechanic's and gex's advice. i blame the mechanic and gex for feeding him this bullshit. vintage porsches or not, i'd take my car elsewhere if i were you.

we've dealt with gex at work before, and it's always a fucking nightmare. but customers insist on buying those motors, not knowing how fucked they are, and pay us to install them despite our warnings. we would never tell a customer to follow gex's advice and drive it until it stops leaking though. that is a fucking retarded thing to say to somebody. gex is familiar with the courtroom, and they will keep this kind of shit up no matter what you do to them.

having said that, i hope you really stick it to them, rudy! as icy so eloquently pointed out, your argument has some sucky parts, so be careful in how you argue this. emphasize the fact that they wanted you to drive it until the oil leak went away. good luck.

Give the guy a fucking break! ,love the unity shown on this one .Could be easier to just offer help or a kind word, but i guess that is not what guys do right ? Hey Rudy ,spelling on the best VW site in the world does not matter one fucking bit! Take on Gex but do it the right way.You need to file the matter in the district of COLUMBIA not where GEX is, and, it would not matter who else joined in.It could even be done without a lawyer, they will not tell you this though. IF you search on this some you will be amazed at the system. I will pm you on some resources.PEACE Shocked

Thanks for the feedback this includes Icy.I wish I was blessed with a mechanics hands but was not.If I was I would build my own engine and this would of never happened.I am not going to court just yet.My Atty knows the atty general and has sat on many boards that have discussed consumer issues. He told me that he would wright a letter on my behalf and stresed that I also file a formal complaint to the atty general. If their are enough complaints they can issue a fraudlent business practice investigation and my atty advised me that companies have been shut down as a result of such investigations. On a lighter note my car was invited to show in feb of 05 I think it is called the Jack Morin car show or something like that, sorry I do not have the correct name.As for pics I will try to put some up.

Good luck with your quest ruby. Good idea or bad idea, somebody needs to give them some shit.

It's never a bad idea to give GEX some shit. How many VW's have they killed because the young impressionable owner bought one, it blew, and the car ended up in the junkyard because those bitches don't honor their warranty?

I know of one, I needed Xmas money, and the $200 I got for the car was what I needed. It was a 69, had new paint, new tranny, new BLOWN engine, no rust. Made me cry.

I now have 25+ VW's on my resume, and thankfully, those asses didn't break my spirit.

I was 18 at the time, 35 now. They haven't changed a bit.
