I paid him for a middle seat kickpanel in July. Told him in September that I still hadn't received it. He said he had another he would send me.. haven't heard back or received the kick panels...
Want to know if this fellow is legite..? or if it is a scam..?
Thanks, let me know, Stacey _________________ Wanted: Old Martin or Gibson Guitars

I'm starting to get little wafts of bus stink coming from the north. Something about the unique scent of drivers seat padding when it's glued together with mouse piss and shit that really gets me going... and I'm smelling it! Oh yeah! Time to start loading up the equipment. |

I've been waiting since September for a washer reserviour for my 65 bug.
I paid Mike 6 dollars over paypal (I know, not much, but it's the principle) and nothing happend. He told me he was military, and was working support for a few different things, and it was hard for him to be there from one day to the next. Since I'm ex-military, I decided to give him the extra consideration.
After a couple of months though, I have to ask myself, Why wouldn't he send the part, or at least send the money back. Is the 6 bucks really worth stealing? I hope his integrity is worth more than that. _________________ \X/ Delaware Dave

Mikes not a scam artist. He's just getting old and forgetful probably, after 20+ years in the Navy.
I'm 5 minutes from his house so lemme know if I need to go out there and rough him up a bit. _________________ OG JHC

Mike Riel may not be a "Scam Artist", but he definately conducts himself as if he is one. Since I postied on this thread, He responded to me on November 29th, claiming it's been busy and he will send me the Reserviour (or my money back) soon. Well, It's the day after Christmas, and I've received nothing.
I ran a search for posts he's written on The Samba and it shows he's been very active on the site for the last couple of months. He's not so busy that he can't place one item in the mail, or send me my money back through paypal. The only conclusion I can draw is that he never intended to sell me anything.
But why bilk me out of only 6 bucks? Either he's a lousy crook, a moron, or the laziest guy I ever met. Take your pick. _________________ \X/ Delaware Dave

No, he gave me a sand-sealed pulley and a raised adj. BJ beam for my 74 baja, and was trying to give me other stuff as well. Get with him about your part, I'm sure it's just an oversight. |

I got a message from Mike this morning, saying he placed it in the mail yesterday. I'm at work, so I can't say if it's on my doorstep yet. I'd more likely expect it tomorrow.
If you asked him about it, thanks Uncle Bob. _________________ \X/ Delaware Dave

To all,
I got the washer bottle in the mail when I came home from work today. Just as Mike said, it's in very good shape. He was apologetiic and nice about the whole thing. So was I. I'll just have to brave the cold to install it, maybe this weekend. Then again, maybe in March. The highs have been in the mid 30s in Delaware. The 1965 is usually put away in the winter, and I now have a 1971 standard that I'm beginning to work on. The bodywork is done and it's painted it's original Clementine Orange, but the car is completely gutted. I'll put in a new wiring harness before the interior, and finish it with either a 1600cc or 1776cc engine. Could be fun...
Anyway, Mike came through for me, albeit a tad late. I have no animosity toward the man. I wish him well.

Mike is a sailor. Maybe he was scraping the barnacles off the hull or manning a swab? _________________ West Virginia State Board of Education v. Barnette, 319 U.S. 624 (1943) |

I sent out a bunch of stuff that I had been slacking on lately. As usual I dont charge anything for most of the spare parts I have. I give them away free just ask for shipping.
If there is anyone local here in florida, I have a 1776 longblock sitting in my garage you can have if you come get it. _________________ OGJHC

Wow, That's tempting, but I couldn't possibly get away from Mercedes Benz long enough to get down to Florida. That engine would put me a few months ahead on my project. _________________ \X/ Delaware Dave

It has officially now been 7 months and still waiting for my kick panel. Mid January he said he would mail it. Contacted him end of january, still hadn't sent it and apologized... said he would and throw in some extra panels.
It is now mid February, still haven't seen the parts, and have PM'd him a couple times with no response...!!!
I'm tired of being patient... _________________ Wanted: Old Martin or Gibson Guitars |
