All,

After driving home from Goodyear, I must hereby announce to the world that the Michelin Agelis 185R14C tires are the BEST purchase I have made for my vanagon yet!

PO had cheapo passenger tires on previously. With the Agelis it now rides better, steers easier, turns better, doesn't blow around the road, and feels way better going over bumps.

Having the Agelis on my vanagon is like sex without a rubber....with normal tires, it was still sex, but OHHHHHH how much better with the Agelis.

If any of you are on the fence about spending the cash for these tires, hop off, because I can tell you, it will be one of the best purchases you can make for your van. I still can't believe how much of a difference a set of tires made with this vehicle. I think I've seen it stated before, but if these tires cost twice as much, they'd still be worth every penny.

Didn't want to start yet another tire thread.
Just purchased 4 15" South African Alloys form Volkscafe, they have the best price. The advice on vanagon.com about tires is dated. There are no Agilis 215/65R15, at least not in Philly. 205/65R15 were recommended, this is standard size for Eurovan and readily available.
With 14" wheels and Dunlop tires, it was like driving in snow ... all the time.
15" wheels and Agilis tires is like riding on rails, big improvement, well worth the $1100 cost.

I have the 15 inch South Africa steel rims and the Agilis 205/65 R15 tires.......EXCELLENT COMBINATION..much better in the corners and less windwander on the highway when it's windy...which around San Francisco is.......ALL THE TIME

I had NO idea the Agilis where available in the 14 inch size........REALLY ?

No, I took off 14" Dunlops and replaced them with the similar combination you are using: 15 inch South Africa alloy rims and the Agilis 205/65 R15 tires.

I've been using 185R14C Agillis 61s on my vanagon for years. Better than the mich xzx they replaced. About a year ago I had to replace one and found that all I could get were the Agillis 81s. They're the same price only difference is the agillis 61 is a 6 ply rated tire (min rating listed on the tire placard on the van) and the 81 is an 8 ply. Last like iron but a little noisy at speed. Also you can special order them from walmart which is nice since I work at one of their tire shops.

I've got stock size, Agilis 81's all around on stock steel rims.
I think they only come in two sizes.
These are one of three makes/types of stock size
tire that are correct for the Vanagon.
